Who Else Wants to be Like Lebron?

When we look at Lebron, he is a superstar. I’m wondering if I should have said Brady based upon what has just transpired this month in order for you to get the point.

Here is the deal. Lebron just wants to go out and do his thing. He wants to be the best at his game. Many of us have that same desire, we want to just go out and make it happen. Many of us just look at the results and we don’t focus on the underlying factors that produce the results. I need to tell you that Lebron or any superstar has a few advantages that many business owners who are attempting to take their game or their business to the next level miss.

For starters he works on his craft and himself tirelessly. He does not just work. He works on the areas that will give him the most return on his investment of time. He is not working on anything and everything. We need to make sure that we have focus and the discipline to work today on what will give me the results I’m looking for tomorrow. We need to keep that in mind if we are going to be the best that we can be.

Number two he does not do everything himself. He does the things that he needs to do. He is surrounded by others that have different roles and responsibilities. Lebron is absolutely a great player, but the last time I watched a game there was a coach that was on the sideline. What was the responsibility of the coach? They were leading and keeping the team together. Please take note, I said team. How many of us do everything ourselves and we don’t have a team to help us get to the ultimate goal? I need to surround myself with others who are good at what they do so that I don’t have to do everything.

Lastly, and this is a big one: Lebron does not have to keep score. Does anyone in your business keep score? Could you imagine going to a game and there was no scoreboard? Lebron does not have to keep score. Just imagine how good Lebron would be if during the game he had to stop and to write down his stats. He is not calculating in his head what the score of the game is. Lebron has other people that do this for him. Is Lebron even good at keeping the numbers? I may never know the answer to that question, but this one thing I know: Lebron is busy being the best that he can be.

This is a problem for you and the reason why many reading will never be Lebron. You are not focusing on the biggest obstacle in your business. You are doing everything. You are doing things that you know you are not even good at. If you are ever going to be who you were called to be, then you are going to have to work on surrounding yourself with people that can support you. They need to support you in the areas that are preventing you from giving the world more of you.

Are you ready to go from where you are to where you want to be?

Until next time,

PS: I’m not sure about you, but the back of my jersey reads “Clanton.” What about you?
